Contemporary Dance Fort Worth

As Fort Worth's first professional modern dance company, Contemporary Dance Fort Worth was formed with the dual mission of promoting and producing Modern Dance in the Fort Worth and Tarrant County area. The CDFW Company's repertory includes works by choreographers recognized on local, regional, and national levels. In addition to producing programs featuring its own company of talented dancers, the organization also acts as a presenter, bringing nationally and internationally-recognized modern dance companies and independent choreographers to Fort Worth audiences. The CDFW company has toured throughout the U.S. and in Mexico, and artistic leaders Kerry Kreiman and Susan Douglas Roberts have taught and performed internationally, representing the company as solo artists throughout the world including countries as diverse as Taiwan, Brazil, Guatemala, Paraguay, Spain, France, Mexico, and Hong Kong.

CDFW's "Dance Delivered" educational and community outreach program brings modern dance to the general public, with a particular emphasis on reaching the under-served. It touches audiences and participants of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds by presenting performances, and teaching residencies, workshops and master classes in schools, community centers, workplaces, shopping centers, museums, parks, festivals, landmarks, and more. In 1996, CDFW was awarded the Fort Worth ISD Adopt-A-School Program Outstanding Small Company/Organization Award for its exemplary partnership with Manuel Jara Elementary School. CDFW is honored to be a member of the artist rosters for the Heartland Arts Fund of the Mid-America Arts Alliance; the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Arts Program; Imagination Celebration Fort Worth; and the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County's Neighborhood Arts Program in collaboration with the City of Fort Worth.

CDFW recently established a school in new studios at Orchestra Hall in southwest Fort Worth, and now offers year round classes for ages 3 and up, at all levels of experience.
