Arts Fifth Avenue

Arts Fifth Avenue is the home of MONDO Drummers and both are 501(c)3 nonprofit corporations. We are located at the corner of 5th Avenue and W. Allen in the Fairmount Southside Historic District of Fort Worth. Partial funding provided by the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, The City of Fort Worth, Garvey Texas Foundation, RadioShack Corporation, McAfee Security, and Humanities Texas.

Our goal is to promote the arts in our community by offering an array of classes in Dance, Drumming, Voice, Stringed Instruments, Art and more; and to provide an affordable venue for exhibitions/performances by local visual and performing artists, and small arts groups by serving as a 501(C)3 umbrella.

We also offer nightly entertainment several weekends per month - primarily live music, MONDO Drummers Concerts, poetry/spoken word performances, Tap dance, and small theatre productions. Annually we host a celebration of Dia de los Muertos, National Tap Dance Day, a 3-night Django Reinhardt Festival, and semi-annually participate in the Southside Arts Goggle and Gallery Nights.

MONDO Drummers is a program that began in 1994 through the Eastside Neighborhood Arts Center as an outreach program for at-risk youth. While percussion and hand instruments are the focus of the program, MONDO goes a few steps further by teaching the history and culture of musical styles from around the world. In 1999, MONDO became its own 501(c)3 non-profit corporation reaching 10,500 children in 55 metroplex schools and libraries. Our after-school and evening instructional programs give children the opportunity to have a true hands-on artistic experience. Mondo has also developed and implemented a program to provide musical education to home-schooled students.

Arts Fifth Avenue is an eclectic neighborhood arts center and is open to the public for events, rehearsals, performances, conferences, and parties.
