Fort Worth Theatre

Fort Worth Theatre (FWT) was founded in 1955 and is the oldest community theatre in Tarrant County. From its very beginning, the goal of Fort Worth Theatre has been to provide an opportunity for local non-professionals to participate in live theatre. During the last fifty years, the theatre has gone through many changes but it remains true to its mission. FWT strives to bring the community quality productions of new and classic works of the American theatre.

In addition to stage productions, FWT remains involved within the community by sponsoring such projects as the High School Playwriting Project and the Hispanic Playwrights Festival every year. FWT takes pride and joy in providing a creative outlet for such under-utilized artists. The theatre is currently exploring the opportunity to offer classes to the public in basic acting, playwriting, and other aspects of stagecraft.

Auditions are always open to the public. FWT is currently seeking new actors, directors, and technicians who want to take part in the living art that is theatre. No experience required! The group also welcomes volunteers interested in being a vital presence either backstage or "out front" before show time. In whatever capacity, whether it be as an audience member or a member of the cast, Fort Wort Theatre hopes you will join them soon for a wonderful live theatre experience!
