Granbury Opera House

The Granbury Opera House is an enchanting escape from reality located just 30 miles west of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Founded in the late 1800’s as a saloon playhouse, it was rumored to be the getaway for John Wilkes Booth in a book which later was turned into a movie.

Refurbished in the 1970’s to be one of the top musical theaters in the metroplex, the Opera House is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Additionally, the Opera House is a charter member of the League of Historic American Theatres.

Nestled among unique shops and restaurants on the historical town square, the Opera House is open year-round with shows on the weekends during the Fall and Winter months, and an expanded season during the Spring and Summer.

Shows produced at the Granbury Opera House are designed to lift the spirits and put a smile on the faces of the entire audience. Ticket prices have recently been lowered to make the scenic drive to Granbury more affordable, and special discounts are available for senior citizens, groups and children. All shows are family friendly.
