Jubilee Theatre

This season, Jubilee Theatre is celebrating 26 years of outstanding theatrical productions. Founded in 1981 by Rudy and Marian Eastman, Jubilee Theatre continues today to strive to achieve its primary mission: To create and present theatrical works which represent the richness and diversity of the African-American experience.

In 1992, Jubilee moved to its current location in downtown Fort Worth at 506 Main Street. Since the move to Sundance Square, Jubilee has seen unprecedented growth, winning awards and accolades for its artistic integrity and solidifying itself as an artistic and community leader.

Jubilee Theatre was lead artistically by Rudy Eastman for 24 years until his death in 2005. The theatre is now under the artistic helm of Ed Smith and Jubilee audiences and programs have continued to grow and expand. Jubilee currently offers 3 musicals and 3 plays each season. The company's work has been called “absolutely enthralling” (Dallas Observer, 10.12.06) and each production is loaded with “the perfect weapon ... crack cast members” (Fort Worth Weekly, 10.18.06).

Join Jubilee this season as they celebrate A Proud History, A Promising Future.
