The museums of the Fort Worth Cultural District are proud to announce the second annual Day in the District on September 29, 2007 from 10 am to 5pm. Museums will offer free admission and many of Fort Worth’s cultural organizations will offer free performances in and around the museums.

Creative Arts Theatre & School will open its 2007–2008 season with their production of Honk! Jr, based on the beloved story of “The Ugly Duckling” by Hans Christian Andersen. The play will run September 28 through October 7, 2007.

The Amon Carter Museum reopened on Saturday, August 18 at 10 a.m., following its closure this summer to undergo repairs to the building’s fire suppression system. Admission to the museum galleries is now free to the public.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents a special exhibition of hyper-realistic sculpture by renowned contemporary sculptor Ron Mueck from June 24 through October 21, 2007. Mueck’s “Untitled” (Seated Woman) is one of the most popular pieces in the museum’s permanent collection.
