Magnolia at the Modern's  Upcoming Schedule Includes a Variety of 2009 Oscar Nominees

Magnolia at the Modern, an ongoing weekly series featuring critically acclaimed films, will be screening a variety of feature length and short films that have been nominated for 2009 Academy Awards. Screenings are held in the intimate and comfortable Auditorium of The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and tickets go on sale two hours prior to each show. The Oscars will be presented on March 7, 2010.

Theatre Arlington Receives $8,500 to Support Its Outreach Program for At-Risk Youth

Theatre Arlington is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a total of $8,500 in grant monies from two generous corporations who have a history of donating back to the communities in which they do business – JPMorgan Chase and Target. The funds will support one of the theater’s most innovative programs, one designed to improve the lives of local at-risk adolescents.

Texas Dance Theatre and FW Community Arts Center Spotlight Artist Daniel Corona

Texas Dance Theatre Artistic Director Wil McKnight has announced that visual artist Daniel Corona – whose work inspired and provided the backdrop for McKnight’s ballet Fast – will have his work displayed at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center throughout the month of February. A gallery reception will be held on February 12 prior to a performance by TDT. Then, TDT will repeat the ballet with additional artwork by Corona at its Season Finale performance on April 30.

Schola Cantorum of Texas to Participate in Benefit for the People of Haiti on January 24

Schola Cantorum of Texas will be joined by Arborlawn’s Chancel Choir, and the Texas Wesleyan University Chamber Singers in A Concert for the People of Haiti, Sunday, January 24 at 3:00 PM at Arborlawn United Methodist Church in South Fort Worth. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door and given to the American Red Cross relief effort for the people of Haiti.
