Texas Ballet Theater Anticipates Move to a  New Facility in Fort Worth During Summer 2010

Texas Ballet Theater is proud to announce it is relocating its rehearsal studios, administrative offices and Fort Worth Academy to a new location in Fort Worth. Texas Ballet Theater is currently located at 6845 Green Oaks Road where it has been since 1985. The new facility is located at 1600 Green Oaks Road and should be ready for occupancy in about four months.

In Memoriam – Larry Thompson of the Azle Arts Association's  Popcorn Players, 1946 - 2010

Guide To The City has just learned of the tragic death of Mr. Larry Thompson, the executive director of the Northwest Tarrant Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Popcorn Players of Azle. In what has been ruled a homicide, Mr. Thompson was killed on Saturday night, February 6, 2010, in the 7100 block of Robertson Road in Fort Worth when his car was hit head on by a man suspected of driving while intoxicated. Mr. Thompson had just played the role of Rev. Duncan Wooley in a performance of Azle Arts’ Leading Ladies earlier that same evening.

Top Area Chefs to Compete in Thirteenth Annual "Cookin' for Kids" Celebrity Chef Cook-Off

The 13th Annual Cookin’ for Kids, Fort Worth’s original celebrity chef cook-off, will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the River Ranch in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Twelve professionals will compete in this year’s live event, including chefs from Del Frisco’s, Four Seasons, Reata and Fred’s Texas. Each chef will be assisted by one or more “notable Texans,” including TCU head football coach Gary Patterson, Fort Worth city councilwoman Kathleen Hicks and 2010 Texas State Poet Laureate Karla K. Morton. Proceeds benefit Kids Who Care, a local non-profit organization.
