Amon Carter Museum Director Ron Tyler has announced the acquisition of a bronze sculpture entitled “The Negro Looks Ahead” by Richmond Barthé (1901–1989), who was among the Harlem Renaissance era’s most successful sculptors. The piece is currently on view on the first floor of the museum.

The Bruce Wood Dance Company, a nationally revered performing arts group based in Fort Worth, announced on Friday, November 17, that it would be folding due to an anticipated budget shortfall. Season subscribers may request a prorated refund for the remaining three performances in the troupe’s 2006–2007 season.

Circle Theatre has announced that that it will hold auditions for its upcoming 2007 season opener, “From Door to Door” on December 4 and 5, followed by auditions for “Lincolnesque” on December 18 and 19. Auditions will be scheduled by appointment only.
