Theatre Off The Square to Hold Auditions for "Witness for the Prosecution" Feb. 15 & 16

Theatre Off The Square in Weatherford announces audition dates for their upcoming production of Witness for the Prosecution by Agatha Christie, on Monday, February 15, 2010 and Tuesday, February 16, 2010 with callbacks on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Auditions will be held at Theatre Off the Square at 114 N. Denton in Weatherford and will begin at 6:30 each evening.

Country Legends Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson to Appear at Bass Hall on Feb. 17

Bass Hall and Performing Arts Fort Worth will present An Acoustic Evening with Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson for one night only, February 17, 2010, at 7:30 PM. These two musical giants had never shared a stage until they performed a series of concerts in California last year. Playing to sold out crowds, they decided to go on tour together in 2010. Schola Cantorum of Texas to Participate in Benefit for the People of Haiti on January 24

Schola Cantorum of Texas will be joined by Arborlawn’s Chancel Choir, and the Texas Wesleyan University Chamber Singers in A Concert for the People of Haiti, Sunday, January 24 at 3:00 PM at Arborlawn United Methodist Church in South Fort Worth. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door and given to the American Red Cross relief effort for the people of Haiti.

Texas Ballet Theater Addresses the Issue of Live Versus Recorded Music During Performances

Financially, 2009 has proven to be a very difficult year for the Cultural and Performing Arts across the United States. In North Texas, several organizations have been forced to shut their doors, and others have found themselves with dramatically curtailed budgets. Texas Ballet Theater is no exception. TBT Artistic Director Ben Stevenson’s annual production of The Nutcracker will be performed in both Dallas and Fort Worth this year without live musical accompaniment.
