Art lovers unite! The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth introduces the Modern Contemporaries, a unique opportunity for museum supporters in their 20s and 30s to learn about and experience modern art.

More than 500 artworks from the Amon Carter Museum’s renowned permanent collection of American art will be on view this summer in 12 installations featuring all media—painting, sculpture, photography, prints, drawings, watercolors, and important books and maps from the museum’s library and archives.

The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and Hall of Fame and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History launches a joint ticket program on Saturday, May 28. Guests can purchase one ticket for both museums at either location, creating a partnership that gives more to museum-goers.

The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts received eight Betty Lynn Buckley Awards, recognizing their superior work in musical theatre.

For both book illustration and printmaking in America, the years framed by the United States’ involvement in World Wars I and II (1917–1945) marked a time of remarkable artistic innovation and diversity. This exhibition, on view at the Amon Carter Museum May 28 – December 18, brings together more than 40 books and prints from that period, all drawn from the Carter’s extensive permanent collection. Admission is free.

The University of North Texas Health Science Center and the Amon Carter Museum have partnered to present An Eye for Detail: The Art of Observation to first-year medical students. This innovative course is designed to help future physicians work on their diagnostic skills by examining paintings and photographs from the museum’s collection.

The world’s expert on Millais (1829–1896), Dr. Warner will discuss the development of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. A group of artists who considered British art to be in a state of decadence, the Pre-Raphaelites dedicated themselves to painting moral and religious subjects as naturally and as honestly as possible.

The Kimbell Art Museum presents “Pictures and Pages,” a new program for children ages 3 to 5. The program is free, but registration by Monday, March 21, is required. Early registration is reccommended as space is limited.
