Anselm Kiefer: Heaven and Earth; on view to the public at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth from September 25, 2005 through January 8, 2006. Organized by The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth; traveling to the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The Annual Artists Against AIDS Silent Art Auction benefiting the Tarrant County AIDS Interfaith Network (TCAIN) will take place on Friday, September 30, 2005 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.

The Kimbell Art Museum will show the first segment of its summer film series held in conjunction with the special exhibition Palace and Mosque: Islamic Art from the Victoria and Albert Museum on Sunday, July 17, at 2 p.m. The free presentation of “Islam, Empire of Faith: The Messenger” (1999, 60 min.) will take place in the Museum auditorium. The series will explore the birth and historic development of the Islamic faith and culture, with emphasis on contributions Muslims have made in art, architecture, education, science, medicine, and philosophy.

The Sid Richardson Collection of Western Art, which boasts more than 60 paintings by premier Western artists, Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell, will close its museum temporarily June 19, 2005, to make way for renovation and expansion of its home in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square.

Amon Carter Museum presents Rockwell Kent in two parts beginning Thursday, June 23 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. The second part will air Thursday, June 30 at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The Kimbell Art Museum has introduced brand-new Family Gallery Guides, which are now available at the Museum’s Information Desk. Created as discussion tools for the Museum’s permanent collection and architecture, these thought-provoking guides invite children and adults to investigate the Museum’s building and the artworks inside it together.

Gather with friends or meet other art lovers at The Kimbell Art Museum’s Summer Mixer Series, which kicks off on Thursday, July 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. The series, featuring light jazz, guided tours of the Museum, and a cash bar, will continue on the evenings of Thursday, August 11, and Thursday, September 8, also from 6 to 8 p.m.

Amphibian Productions kicks off its ’05 – ’06 maintage season with British playwright Tony Bicât’s A Buyer’s Market. This hilarious political play—dealing with loyalty, sexism, greed, and responsibility—comes to Fort Worth from July 7-17 at the TCU Hays Theater (2800 South University Drive).

Metropolitan Classical Ballet is proud to announce Alexei Melentiev, distinguished pianist from the Bolshoi in Moscow, will perform with the Company for the last production of the 2004 – 2005 season at the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth on Saturday, June 11th at 8:00 PM.

Circle Theatre presents Over the Tavern, an entertaining comedy by Tom Dudzick about growing up in a Polish-Catholic family. Performances run June 15th – July 30th.
