Fort Worth Opera's  First Annual Festival to Include the World Premiere of "Frau Margot"

Fort Worth Opera is making a major change in its presentation format for 2007: it is condensing its entire season into an annual festival, with all of its operas and concerts being presented over a four week period beginning June 1. The repertoire for the inaugural festival includes a much anticipated world premiere by Thomas Pasatieri.

Circle Theatre to Premiere a  New Comedy

Circle Theatre presents Bruce Graham’s According to Goldman, a surprising and hilarious "take" on screenwriting, Hollywood and personal relationships. Performances run May 31st – July 7th. Graham is one of Circle’s favorite playwrights. Two or his other plays, Desperate Affection and Moon Over the Brewery, were produced at the Theatre, in previous seasons. CATS to Present Fundraising Production of Stephen Schwartz's  "Children of Eden" May 4-13

Creative Arts Theater and School will conclude its phenomenal 2006-2007 season with a large scale production of “Children of Eden”, a two-act musical play written by Stephen Schwartz, the creator of “Godspell” and “Pippin”. Proceeds from this production will be used to fund the school’s scholarship program benefitting youth who otherwise might be unable to fulfill their educational and career goals.

Kimbell Art Museum Buys Back 1841 Painting Seized by Pro-Nazis in 1943

Glaucus and Scylla The Kimbell Art Museum announced today, April 19, 2007, that it has repurchased the painting “Glaucus and Scylla” (1841) at Christie’s, New York, for a hammer price of $5.7 million. The Museum, which first acquired the painting in 1966, had returned it to the rightful heirs last year after an investigation concluded that the artwork had been unlawfully seized by the pro-Nazi Vichy regime in France during WWII.
