Arts Fifth Avenue announced today that they will be hosting a sculpture workshop with Fort Worth native and world renowned artist Glenna Janda Sundays from September 11 through October 16, 2005 (6 week course).
About the Course
Classes will begin with the construction of a wire armature with emphasis on the classic proportions of the human figure; modeling techniques will be shown. Classes will then evolve into expressions, detail, and composition of negative and positive space. The three-hour sessions will allow each student to progress at their own pace and each student will receive one-on-one instruction.Date: Sundays/Sept 11 – Oct 16, 2005 – A Six Week Course

About Glenna
Glenna is a Fort Worth native and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from TCU. While living in Mexico, Glenna also studied at the University of the Americas in Mexico City, the Instituto Allende and the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in San Miguel de Allende. She also apprenticed at the Enrique Miralda Sculpture Studio and the Manola Ruiz Ceramics Studio in Mexico City.Glenna’s work has been shown in galleries in Mexico City, Santa Fe, Denver, Dallas and Fort Worth. In addition to her work in sculpture, painting and ceramics, Glenna also has a strong dance background. She studied with Mia Slavenska (Director of the then Fort Worth Ballet Company) and while living in San Miguel de Allende, Glenna taught ballet at the Instituto Nacional de Belles Artes. Glenna moved to Santa Fe, NM in 1981 and while there, she again taught ballet and choreographed several musicals while teaching sculpture and ceramics at the community college

Glenna’s work was included in the American Embassy Annual Invitational Show for eight consecutive years at the American Embassy Residence/Mexico City, Mexico (1971-78).
