The Kimbell Art Museum will show the first segment of its summer film series held in conjunction with the special exhibition Palace and Mosque: Islamic Art from the Victoria and Albert Museum on Sunday, July 17, at 2 p.m. The free presentation of “Islam, Empire of Faith: The Messenger” (1999, 60 min.) will take place in the Museum auditorium. The series will explore the birth and historic development of the Islamic faith and culture, with emphasis on contributions Muslims have made in art, architecture, education, science, medicine, and philosophy.

Palace and Mosque: Islamic Art from the Victoria and Albert Museum brings over 100 of the finest masterpieces from the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London to the Kimbell.
