Texas Ballet Theater today announced the annual fund raising event, Sporting Clays for the Ballet, being held Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Dallas Gun Club, a world-class shooting facility located at the intersection of Interstate 35E & Highway 121 in Lewisville. The event is underwritten by Wells Fargo, and is chaired by Toby Darden and Carter Malouf. Individual tickets for the 2005 Sporting Clays event are $125. Sponsorships range from $1,500 to $10,000 and can be obtained by calling Jeanne Cassidy at 817-763-0207 ext -104 or jcassidy@texasballettheater.org.

The event features staggered starting times at 3:00 P.M., 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. to better accommodate shooters’ schedules. Richard Whaley, shooting instructor at the Dallas Gun Club, will supervise the shooting. Shooters 14 and older are welcome if accompanied by an adult. The afternoon concludes with the extremely popular Annie Oakley competition. Beretta Gallery has generously provided a Beretta 391 Urika 12-Gauge shotgun as an additional prize for the winner of the Annie Oakley competition. Once the shooting is over, the real fun begins! Guests will be treated to a barbeque dinner created by Chef John Parker of the Dallas Gun Club and dancing under the stars to the sounds of Pardi Gras.
