The Texas Girls Choirs annual “YOUR LITTLE SWEETHEART” Concerts presented on Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM in the Texas Girls Choir Concert Hall will feature a variety of music performed by the total membership of the Choir. The Texas Girls Choir Concert Hall is located at 4449 Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth just west of the museums and cultural district.

The girls will perform selections that will be pleasing to all of their audience including everything from Laudamus Te by Bill Cutter, The Lord Is My Shepherd by Smart (which the choir has performed since the 1960’s), the exciting Erl-King by Schubert, to John Denver’s Grandma’s Feather Bed and Take Me Home Country Roads, to the classical version of Three Blind Mice arranged by Riegger, to a medley of favorite tunes from the 1920’s, to the Texas Girls Choir Presentation written for the choir by the late Texas composer – Lew Gillis and including the stirring Battle Hymn Of The Republic.

Besides the choral choirs, the forty-five member Concert Bell Choir will perform two selections and The Ristow Family (an Ex-Choir Family) will perform while the stage is being set for the Finale.

The talented Ristows include mom – Linda and dad – Dan, plus their son Isaac and daughter Amber, who attend Tarleton State University. They all sing, plus accompany themselves on guitar.
The five choirs of the Texas Girls Choir, a total of 285 girls, will perform in the FINALE. The ninety-five member Preparatory Choir, the beginning level of the Texas Girls Choir will make their premier appearance with the choir, having only been members of the choir since January 31, 2005. The Finale will include a choral version of the Pledge of Allegiance arranged by Brymer and a medley of friendship favorites arranged by Shaw – Best Buddies and ending with the Texas Girls Choir Song by Gillis.

The Concert will be accompanied by Layne Trent – Assistant Director, Elizabeth Barney and Rief Kessler on Keyboards, Jay Majernik – percussionist, and Dan & Isaac Ristow on guitars. Rehearsal Assistants for all Choirs are April Kessler, Lilliamely King, Tami Owsley and Amber Ristow. The choral choirs and handbell choirs are under the direction of Debi Weir, Executive Director.

Mistresses of Ceremonies for the Concert will be Linda Ristow, Ex-Choir mother and Elementary teacher and Amber Ristow, Ex-Choir girl, TGC Rehearsal Assistant and junior at Tarleton State University.

Tickets for the Concert are on sale at the Texas Girls Choir office – 817-732-8161 – or may be purchased at the door. General Admission tickets are $8.00 and Reserved Seats are $15.00.

Thirty-six selected members of the Concert Choir will travel to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. on the choir’s annual Spring Concert Tour, April 28th through May 2, 2005. The girls will be hosted by the Pennsylvania Youth Chorale, visit the famous Hershey Chocolate Factory, enjoy Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, and tour the Capitol, White House and other historical sites in Washington, D.C.
