Getting Sara Married is a romantic comedy. Sara Hastings is a single lawyer who is too busy for romance. Her Aunt Martha decides to take an active role in catching the reluctant Sara a husband at any cost. Aunt Martha takes matters into her own hands and uses some unorthodox and ridiculous methods of matchmaking. The prospective groom is Brandon Cates, the young man who handles Aunt Martha’s finances. Although Brandon is already engaged to be married, Aunt Martha is not deterred and she has Brandon delivered to Sara’s apartment one evening. As Sara goes to open the door she does not realize her uncomplicated life is about to change.
The following roles are available for non-equity actors:
Sara Hastings: An attractive, unmarried defense lawyer in her mid-thirties.
Aunt Martha: Sara’s unpredictable, eccentric aunt in her late fifties to mid-sixties.
Noogie Malloy: A tough looking, but harmless delivery man in his 40s-50s.
Brandon Cates: A potential husband that Aunt Martha has picked out for Sara. He is a successful accountant and in his mid-thirties.
Heather Boyd: Bandon’s young fiancée in her early to mid-twenties.
Auditions will take place on Sunday, March 21 and Monday, March 22 from 7:00-9:30 at Runway Theatre in Grapevine.
Possible callbacks will be Tuesday, March 23. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one.
