Apex Arts League invites you and your family to come and enjoy silent films as they were originally shown – not in silence, but with a mood-setting, live theater organ “soundtrack” – as they host An Evening of Not-So-Silent Cinema.

Join accomplished organist Robert MacDonald as he turns back the clock back to guide the audience through an experience unlike any other. He will “pull out all the stops” to bring Laurel & Hardy comedies and other classic films alive as he highlights the true and varied sounds of the wonderful Johannus organ at St. Barnabas the Apostle Church in Keller.

The church is located at 8425 Parkwood Hill Blvd. near the intersection of Highway 377 and North Tarrant Parkway.

Three-year-old Apex Arts League is a proud sponsor of performing and visual arts programs in Northeast Tarrant County. The organization’s vision is to open a regional arts center to showcase the talent of a broad range of artists. To learn more about Apex and to join, simply click here.

About the Artist

Robert MacDonald has been performing at the organ since childhood, playing in churches at age 10. Now retired, his career spanned decades and has taken him from Boston University and the New England Conservatory of Music through Radio City Music Hall, Cathedrals and churches in New York and New Jersey and, eventually, First Presbyterian in Fort Worth. He is now spending his retirement performing concerts and writing musical arrangements. He especially enjoys bringing this historical venue to life, acting as host and performer as he accompanies the films and leads his audience in a sing-along of old-time favorites.
