Stage West presents a Pulitzer Prize winning script penned by cherished American playwright Thornton Wilder, The Skin of Our Teeth. Jim Covault directs a cast that includes Jerry Russell, Stephanie Dunnam, and Gregory Lush, with Renée Kelly in the role in Sabina, played in the original Broadway production by the legendary Tallulah Bankhead.
More timely than ever, Wilder’s pungent play (written in 1942) alternates between high comedy and penetrating drama as the Antrobus household – a typical American family living in suburbia – copes with a series of natural and manmade disasters, including climate change and war. Juxtaposing this modern family with ancient historical figures (while using a clever repertoire of theatrical devices), Wilder slyly comments about the cyclical nature of human existence. This is a bona fide American classic you won’t want to miss!
