Based on the acclaimed memoir of the same name, Prayers for Bobby is the emotional true story of a 1970s religious suburban housewife and mother who struggles to accept her young son’s gay identity. What happens to Bobby is tragic and subsequently causes Mary to question her faith; ultimately her love for her son changes her views in ways that she never could have imagined.
