Theatre TCU opens its 2008-2009 season with The Laramie Project, a documentary play about the night that hate became a crime.
Written by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project, this explosive, award winning play is based on the true story of a group of New Yorkers who traveled to Wyoming to explore the social conditions and attitudes that precipitated the brutal murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard in 1998. What they uncovered is a deeply disturbing and moving examination of the boundaries between bigotry and tolerance, fear and courage, and hate and hope.
This play contains profanity and graphic descriptions of violence. It is not intended for children.
