It’s been four years since Q Cinema brought one of Fort Worth’s favorite adopted sons to town for a sold-out performance of his one-man show, When You Swish Upon a Star. Now, on the occasion of the 2008 Q Film Festival, they’re bringing Jordan back to present him with their highest honor.
The Emmy Award-winning star is best known for his innumerable television appearances, both as a series regular and guest star. Along with his portrayal of the irascible nemesis to Karen Walker, Beverley Leslie, on “Will & Grace”, he has registered memorable guest stints in an array of television’s best known series such as “Boston Legal”, “Ugly Betty” and “Reba”. Equal acclaim has come from Jordan’s hilarious, poignant and humane portrayals on stage and film. His most enduring turn as Brother Boy in the hit cult film classic Sordid Lives, as well as his one-man autobiographical stage renderings Like a Dog on Linoleum and Hysterical Blindness and other Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far have hailed Jordan with well- deserved accolades for his unique talent.
In addition to receiving an award for his body of work from Sordid Lives director Del Shores, Leslie will share some highlights from his new one-man show based on his upcoming book, My Trip Down the Pink Carpet. The evening will also include a look back at his career, and then Del and star Jason Dottley will share an exclusive sneak peek at scenes with Leslie and company from the upcoming Logo show, Sordid Lives: The Series. There will also be noshes, cocktails and a chance to rub shoulders with the man himself.
