Fort Worth Theatre presents The Trip to Bountiful, written by celebrated Texas playwright Horton Foote and directed by Scott Hardgrove.

This classic of the modern theatre was originally written for television, then was adapted for the stage, and finally became the major motion picture which brought actress Geralding Page an Academy Award as Best Actress of 1985. Set in the 1940’s, it tells the poignant story of an aging widow, living with her son and daughter-in-law in Houston, Texas, who is physically and emotionally compelled to return to her old home in Bountiful. Despite the difficult journey and heart-breaking revelations upon her return, Mrs. Watts is determined to find the strength, dignity, and peace of mind that only her real home can give her.
