Fort Worth Community Arts Center (FWCAC) invites you to experience tantalizing food, superb music and great art as they present their first-ever fundraiser, Sight & Sound 2008.

This gala evening will feature three different dance spaces – one featuring classic rock, another offering the sounds of classic country, and a third filled with the pulse-pounding beat of disco. Whatever your preference, you’ll be able to grab your partner’s hand and take a swing around the floor. Food will include delicious donations from several favorite local restaurants, including Rocco’s Pizza, Blue Mesa Grill, and Railhead Barbeque. You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the FWCAC’s inspiring art galleries and enjoy all the current exhibits on display, many featuring prominent local artists.

Proceeds from this unique event will be used to purchase a new LED sign for the Arts Center, and to upgrade existing sound equipment and lighting in the Sanders and Scott Theatres, as well as lighting in the the gallery spaces.

“The building is in need of renovation so that the entire community can experience state-of-the-art facilities,” notes Kathleen Copeland, FWCAC Program Director.

The FWCAC, located in the heart of the Fort Worth Arts District near the intersection of Montgomery Street and W. Lancaster Avenue, is of vital importance to the arts scene in the City of Fort Worth. The Center offers rehearsal, classroom, performance and exhibition space on the main floor of the building that is utilized by a wide variety of local artists, dancers, theatre companies and musicians. An ‘arts incubator’ on the second floor offers arts groups office and shared workshop space, equipment, and conference rooms.
