Kids Who Care will take its show on the road to perform Deep in the Heart, an original musical that celebrates Texas, on November 10th at the Butler Housing Community. The performance will start at 7:00 pm in the Michael F. Hanratty Auditorium of the Fort Worth Housing Authority, located on the east end of downtown Fort Worth at 1201 E. 13th Street. The performance is free and open to the public, provided in partnership with the Downtown Fort Worth YMCA in celebration of the National Y Arts Week.
This event is part of an ongoing partnership between Kids Who Care and the YMCA to bring arts to children in the Fort Worth community. In July, Kids Who Care and the Downtown YMCA partnered to bring children in the Butler Housing Community and other areas of Fort Worth to the Scott Theatre for a Kids Who Care performance. In September, the Kids Who Care Resident Company presented an interactive writing workshop to children at the Downtown Fort Worth YMCA’s Family Night.
Deep in the Heart is an original musical production that celebrates our Lone Star state. Legend, fact, truth and tall tale come to life as seven children lost in their history books discover Texas and what it means to be a Texan (whether native-born or the got-here-as-quick-as-they-could variety).
The Kids Who Care Resident Company is an audition company of more than 60 children ranging in age from six to 20. The Resident Company performs locally, nationally and internationally each year, September through May. Past performance locations have included New York City, Los Angeles, Italy, Germany, Washington D.C., Orlando and Nashville, as well as many regional venues.
