To celebrate the closing night of its successful 2006 season, Hip Pocket Theatre is planning on having a ball – a costume ball, to be exact – and you’re invited!

Saturday, October 28th, marks the closing night performance of Hip Pocket’s final production of the season, In Watermelon Sugar, and to celebrate the occasion the popular theatrical group is hosting The Black & Orange Ball after the show. This festival of fun promises to be the best party Hip Pocket has ever thrown, so get your costume finished, make your reservation, decorate your pumpkins, and get ready to join in the merriment!

You’ll enjoy Halloween done the “Hip” way! The party will include a live DJ spinning all your favorite songs, and a night of dancing under the stars. There will be a marshmallow and weinie roast – a costume contest – a pumpkin decorating contest – and lots of fun folks to enjoy the evening with.

In Watermelon Sugar begins at 8:15 pm. If you’ve not yet seen this gripping show, then plan on beginning the evening on a high note by attending the performance. As Perry Stewart wrote in the Star-Telegram: ”(Johnny) Simons’ staging is brilliance anew ?? superior to the Brautigan original, some will tell you.” The Black & Orange Ball will begin right after the performance, at about 9:45 pm. See you there!
