Don’t miss guest artist Ed Smith in a cameo appearance with Kids Who Care. A veteran stage director, performer and teacher whose resumé boasts more than three decades of international directing and teaching, Ed is the new artistic director of the Jubilee Theatre.

During his career, Ed has directed over 90 productions for theatres throughout the United States and served as a full professor or teacher at several major universities. From 1993 to 1996, he served as associate artistic director of the acclaimed Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery, Alabama.

Another career highlight came in 2002, when he had the honor of directing Ossie Davis’ final play, A Last Dance for Sybil, at New York’s New Federal Theatre. Ed is also the author of Black Theatre: Ethnic Theatre in the United States (Greenwood Press) and has worked as a radio jazz announcer for almost 20 years.

Ed will be making a special appearance in Kids Who Care’s production of their original play Deep in the Heart, on Friday night, October 13, 2006. The performance will begin at 7:30 PM and will be held at the Scott Theatre in Fort Worth.
