The museums of the Fort Worth Cultural District are proud to announce the inaugural Day in the District on September 30, 2006, from 10 am to 5 pm. Day in the District is a celebration of the extraordinary and diverse arts and cultural organizations in Fort Worth with exciting, entertaining, and interactive programming and performances. The museums will offer free or reduced admission to their exhibitions, and various performing arts organizations will offer free performances in and around the museums. Outdoor performances and events will encourage walking through the beautiful grounds that surround the museums. This festival is designed to invite and welcome local residents to enjoy the world-class cultural experiences that Fort Worth offers. It is also an opportunity for those who are not aware of the various organizations in our community to discover something wonderful and new.
Fort Worth has some of the most important and recognized cultural institutions and organizations in the world. Very rarely are those world class museums and groups situated in such close proximity as the Cultural District. By celebrating this thriving and concentrated cultural community, Fort Worth can develop a civic identity as one of the world’s important cultural centers. Come and enjoy a Day in the District and see how exciting Fort Worth can be!
