Contemporary Dance Fort Worth will offer the following three full scholarships:
- Fort Worth ISD Scholarship – A Fort Worth ISD student between the ages of 6-18 will be selected on the basis of talent and potential.
- Westcliff Elementary Scholarship – A student attending Westcliff Elementary (the neighborhood school near CDFW’s Studios at Orchestra Hall) will be offered a scholarship on the basis of talent and potential.
- Tons of Potential Scholarship – for any student from the North Texas area between the ages of 6-18 who demonstrates the potential for serious growth and study as a young dance artist. Students from any public or private school in the area are eligible to audition for this scholarship.
Any student seeking a scholarship must fulfill the following two requirements to audition:
- Submit an application form and schedule an audition time.
- Submit a short letter of recommendation from a current or recent teacher who can verify that the student has made satisfactory scholastic progress in the past year, and that the student shows good effort in the classroom.
Students offered a scholarship must agree to:
- Pay $1 a month as a sign of their commitment to their studies.
- Provide their own transportation to class and make a commitment to attend class regularly.
- Attend the appropriate classes as recommended by the CDFW staff for her/his age and level of experience. If the times that these courses are offered are not suitable for the student, he/she must forfeit the scholarship, and it will be offered to an alternate.
Students must register to audition and must sign up for an audition time. To register, call 817-922-0944 or e-mail cdfw@cdfw.org.
Auditions will take place in late August and early September, with groups of 4 to 10 students scheduled at a time. Auditions will be held at the Contemporary Dance Fort Worth Studios at Orchestra Hall, 4401 Trail Lake Drive.
