The Festival will consist of seven separate events:
- CDFW Dance Exchange: A Choreographer’s Showcase
New York City dancer/choreographer Mary Cochran will perform two works by Sara Hook: Rue, which is set to Schubert’s Lieder song “Du Bist Die Ruh”; and Patriot Act Up which is set to Morton Gould’s “Parade” and John Philip Sousa’s “The Thunderer.”When: Fri and Sat, June 23 and 24 – 8 pm

Selected as the Honorary Jury award in the 2005 Dance On Camera Film Festival, this documentary by Linda Atkinson and Nick Doob presents Carmen de Lavallade and Geoffrey Holder as artists and as a couple. Full of wonderful archival footage, the film traces their careers, hers as a Horton trained dancer coming to New York from “the wrong coast,” his as a Trinidad-born choreographer who set New York on fire as a set and costume designer, painter, and man about town. Among the dancers who appear are Judith Jamison, Gus Solomons jr, Dudley Williams, Ulysses Dove, and Alvin Ailey. Portions of the film were shot in Fort Worth in 2002 when De Lavallade appeared in a residency with the PARADIGM dance company which was produced and presented by Contemporary Dance/Fort Worth.When: Sat July 8 – 2:00 pm
