The new Texas Artists Coalition (TAC), sponsored by the Fort Worth Community Arts Center (FWCAC), was formed to create a center of information for the artistic community in North Texas.
The TAC will provide its members with exclusive opportunities and privileges advantageous to artists such as workshops, exhibitions, discounts and more. The FWCAC hopes that, through monthly meetings, networking and general sharing of art news and opportunities, the TAC will create a variety of opportunities for artists to showcase their work.
“Once artists leave school, they tend to be solitary in their working. Their artwork becomes insular. Artists need input to continue growing in their art,” said FWCAC Gallery Manager Elaine Taylor. “The better the input, the better the art.”
The TAC will offer its members the possibility of being on a juried selection list for sponsored spaces in available galleries. It will also send out monthly e- letters with artist opportunities, job listings, studio openings, classes and other news.
TAC membership is open to artists living or working in Texas. A basic annual membership costs $50.00 and includes all aforementioned benefits. Students can take advantage of the same benefits for only $35.00.
A sustaining membership costs $100 and includes free admission to one workshop, a subscription to Expressions Magazine and a membership profile in the quarterly Arts Council magazine. Sustaining members also have the opportunity to be on a juried selection list for the monthly featured artist, in addition to all basic membership benefits.
