Texas Ballet Theater offers an encore performance of Ben Stevenson’s acclaimed Mozart Requiem, rated as the top dance performance of 2007 by The Dallas Morning News.

Composed in 1791 over the last few months of Mozart’s short life, the Requiem has become legend. Mozart himself grew to see the commission he accepted to compose the massive, intricate work as a message from God to write the music to accompany his own death – a delusion fostered by his patron, a count who sought secrecy in order to take credit for the composition himself. Mozart’s untimely death before completion of the project lends an urgency to the supplication and absolution of every movement. It is an urgency that translates easily to the versatility and power of ballet, and Ben Stevenson’s creation is a work of stunning and uncompromising grandeur.

The evening’s program will also include the world premiere of an exciting new work.

Location: Bass Hall

Admission: $ 19.00 – $170.00
