Shaver’s songs helped Waylon Jennings, Bobby Bare and Willie Nelson shape the “outlaw country” movement of the 1970’s. Over the past three decades, the five-time Grammy nominee has remained a staple of the Texas-music scene, winning accolades for a string of fiery CDs such as “Billy and the Kid” and “Everybody’s Brother”. The New York Times recently raved: “From unhurried Western swing to twangy, swaggering country-rock, Shaver makes music to burn down honky-tonks.”
