Bass Hall presents Bill Frisell, an extraordinary guitarist whose encyclopedic versatility skims just about every musical genre imaginable.
Initially, Frisell stuck close to playing bebop and jazz, but eventually he grew restless and began experimenting with other genres, making a name for himself as a forward-thinking, remarkably versatile musician.
Over the past three decades, Frisell has worked with countless pop, jazz and rock stars, including Elvis Costello, Ginger Baker and John Zorn. He has also released a string of acclaimed solo CDs, including this year’s “History, Mystery,” a two-disc set that the BBC described as “yet another testament to the man’s place at the very epicenter of modern American music.”
