Magnolia at the Modern, in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art in New York, presents a preserved print of director Allan Dwan’s 1929 classic, The Iron Mask.

Legendary actor and athlete Douglas Fairbanks wrote the script for this fast-paced adventure under the pseudonym “Elton Thomas”. He also stars as the swashbuckling Musketeer, D’Artagnon, in this exciting silent film adaptation of the classic Alexander Dumas novel. With Marguerite de la Motte, Nigel de Brulier, Belle Bennett. Preserved with funds from Celeste Bartos, from original materials donated to MoMA by Douglas Fairbanks himself.
