Artes de la Rosa, proudly presents Anna in the Tropics / Anna en los Trópicos by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Nilo Cruz.

Set in a 1920s cigar factory, Anna in the Tropics depicts the lives of the cigar factory workers, when a new lector is hired. As the lector reads from Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina, he casts a spell over the employees, transforming their passions and desires through the affirming power of art.

Anna en los Trópicos describe las vidas de empleadores de una fábrica de cigarros en los 1920s al momento de contratar un lector. Mientras el lector lee Anna Karenina de Tolstoy, él hechiza a los trabajadores, transformando sus pasiones y deseos con el poder afirmante del arte.

This play will be performed in English, and is appropriate for ages 12 and above.
