Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming

Saturday March 15, 2008 - Saturday April 12, 2008
Rated: G

Artisan Center Theater proudly presents the regional premiere of Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming. This rousing musical was written by Connie Ray, conceived by Alan Bailey, and features musical arrangements by Mike Craver.

The third installment of the Smoke on the Mountain play cycle finds the Sanders Family back together again. It’s October, 1945 – the war is over and America’s years of prosperity are just beginning. Reverend Mervin Oglethorpe has been called to preach in Texas, and he’s already bought a ten-gallon hat and is preparing to ride into the sunset with his wife June. Join the Sanders Family as they send the Oglethorpes off in style, with hilarious and touching stories and plenty of toe-tapping Bluegrass Gospel favorites.
