The Van Cliburn Foundation will host its sixth International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs May 23-29, 2011. All performances will take place at Ed Landreth Auditorium at TCU and will be open to the public. Applications are now being accepted online and by mail for all interested competitors. The City of Fort Worth announced today that Veterans Memorial Airpark has been designated a Blue Star Museum. This designation is a partnership among Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts and more than 750 museums in all 50 states to offer free admission to military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Sept. 6, 2010.

This hour-long trip through the funny and absurd creations of author and cartoonist James Thurber will be presented twice, on June 17 at UTA, and on June 19 at The Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth.
