Orpheus Chamber Singers

Orpheus Chamber Singers was founded in 1995 by artistic director, Donald Krehbiel. To provide rewarding professional opportunities for choral singers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Mr. Krehbiel has assembled a group of the Metroplex's finest, many of them recognized soloists, and has blended them into a richly satisfying ensemble capable of singing music of every period. Now entering its fourteenth season, this professional chorus of 24 singers has garnered critical acclaim for its exquisite sound and innovative programming. Named for the mythical poet and musician whose music had the power to move even inanimate objects, the choir is known for its professional polish, stylish versatility, and passionate performances.

The purpose of OCS is to enrich, inspire and educate by providing exceptional performances of traditional and innovative chamber choral music from the past six centuries. Their rich history includes performances of over 350 pieces from 22 countries, spanning six centuries and numerous styles; three recordings; commissions of outstanding new works; numerous guest appearances; and outreach to area schools.
