Greater Dallas Youth Orchestras

The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra was founded in 1972 by parents, educators, and members of the Dallas music community. In 30 years it has grown to include the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and four preparatory orchestras: Philharmonic, Sinfonietta, Dallas String Ensemble and Young Performers Orchestra and a Wind Symphony. A Summer Music Program with a chamber music camp is held each summer for young string players at the YPO, DSE, Sinfonietta, and Philharmonic levels. The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestras program offers training to over 360 talented young musicians from age 5 to 18.
