Dallas Black Dance Theatre II
DBDT II performs works by recognized and emerging artists, creating a repertoire of modern, jazz, African, lyrical and spiritual works. The company has performed works by emerging and internationally recognized choreographers including Christopher Huggins, Allyne D. Gartrell, Kevin Veiga, Chantel Marrow-Adams, Edmond Giles, Darrell Cleveland, Ingrid Abbott, Nycole Ray and others.
DBDT Founder/Artistic Director, Ann Williams, started DBDT II in September 2000 to feature the best and most promising students of the Dallas Black Dance Academy. Over time, the company has grown in breadth, attracting artists who aspire to professional careers in dance. The purpose of the second company is to develop young artists and give them the opportunity to perform throughout the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area, as well as to better serve the community with dance performances of the highest artistic quality.
