The Dallas Center for Contemporary Art [The Dallas Contemporary] is a hip place in the heart of the urban loft scene one mile east of the downtown Arts District in the Wilson Historic District. Its primary focus is to spotlight smart art by emerging Texas talents. Twenty challenging exhibitions yearly feature theme shows based on artists' ideas, solo shows by diverse artists, sculpture in the garden, and a member artist chosen for the hall. Studio art classes and resource room for artists add to the mix – programs designed to engage and educate fresh minds. Fun fundraising events include an annual Legends awards party to honor Texas artists, arts professionals, and patrons and their Wish! Auction of hot Texas art. Stop by and visit the Dallas Contemporary's welcoming, high-ceilinged galleries filled with natural light.
