Contemporary Theatre of Dallas is adding an extra weekend of performances to the run of its popular and critically acclaimed comedy, The Cemetery Club. To accommodate the demand for tickets, the show, directed by Susan Sargeant, will now run through May 17, 2009.

Lyric Stage in Irving will present a timely revival of Irving Berlin and Moss Hart’s Depression era musical satire, Thousands Cheer at Dupree Theater in the Irving Arts Center. This barbed and tuneful comedy – the Saturday Night Live and Politically Incorrect of its day – will run April 24 through May 09.

Kitchen Dog Theater, in cooperation with the Meadows School for the Arts at SMU, will present the world premiere of a new adaptation of William Shakespeare’s bloodiest play, Titus Andronicus. Restaged in an ancient Mayan setting, this gripping tale of violence will run April 17 through May 16 at the McKinney Avenue Contemporary in Dallas.

Schola Cantorum of Texas will be joined by soloists and orchestra as they perform of two of the 18th century’s most memorable masses at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church on Sunday, April 19 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $20.00 for adults, with a discount for Seniors, and students may attend free.

Texas Dance Theatre, a new Fort Worth based multi-disciplined dance troupe, will make its auspicious debut with a performance on April 17 at 8:00 PM at the Scott Theatre in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. The Texas Dance Theatre Gala Kick-Off will be followed by a black tie optional reception, giving audience members an opportunity to meet Artistic Director Wil McKnight and other members of the Company.
