Richardson Theatre Centre proudly presents Agatha Christie’s lighthearted whodunnit, Spider’s Web. The play will run August 21 through September 13; Thursday evening performances will include dinner and the show for one special low price.

Granbury Opera House presents The Night the Music Died, a recreation of the final concert performed by Buddy Holly, J. P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson, and Ritchie Valens in early February 1959. Later that night, all three performers would be killed in a plane crash and the course of American musical history would change forever.

Jubilee Theatre is proud to present the world premiere run of Sam Shade – A Detective Musical, a tuneful mystery that pays tribute to the classic American detective novel. Conceived by Joe Rogers and directed by Tyrone King, this salute to Sam Spade and his gumshoe brethren opens July 24 and runs through August 23.

Granbury Opera House presents Jospeh and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. This family friendly musical, a retelling of the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors, will run July 09 through July 19. Tickets for all performances are on sale now!

Theatre Three wants to support America’s working men and women during tough economic times. Accordingly, the theatre company in the Quadrangle in Dallas is offering tickets to any performance of its current production, Woody Guthrie’s American Song, for only $.05 to those who are currently unemployed due to the recent economic crisis. The show runs through July 26.

Runway Theatre in Grapevine presents Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Aherns’ Lucky Stiff, opening July 10, 2009, for a four week run. Lonnie Weeks, age 18, has won the Silver Medal in the Junior Division for his performances at the prestigious International Ballet Competition which was held in Helsinki, Finland. Mr. Weeks is a member of the Texas Ballet Theater’s permanent company.

Metropolitan Winds will close its 2008–2009 season with Young, Anxious, Blazing Producers, a tribute to popular film music with special emphasis on the works of composers John Morris and Mel Brooks, at 7:30 PM on June 28, 2009 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Members of the Turtle Creek Chorale will be among the special guests.

Richardson Theatre Centre is moving into a new location at 2701 II Creeks Plaza (directly across the parking lot from their former home), and has chosen the classic musical “Oliver!” as their maiden production in their new space. The show will run Friday, June 19 through Sunday, July 12.

Granbury Opera House is reviving one of its all-time biggest, splashiest, crowd-pleasing musicals, America the Beautiful. Hosted by Will Rogers, the Depression era cowboy and movie star whose gentle humor was balm to a country in crisis, this optimistic show celebrates what’s right in America today and looks forward to the future.
