Contemporary Theatre of Dallas will present a stage reading of Tom Sime’s new drama, Oculus, on November 4, 2007 at 7:00 PM. The reading is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a discussion with the playwright, director Susan Sargeant and the cast.

WaterTower Theatre is holding over the smash hit The Great American Trailer Park Musical for yet another weekend, through November 2, 2007.
Audience members attending the special October 31 performance are encouraged to celebrate Hallowe’en by dressing in their finest “Trailer Park attire,” and will be treated to a special pre-show open bar, hors d’oeuvres and other special treats.

Portuguese superstar singer Mariza, a current Latin Grammy nominee in the category of Best Folk Album, will perform on the popular Late Show with David Letterman on October 11.
Then, on October 20 at 8:00 PM, Mariza will be appearing live in Dallas at McFarlin Auditorium on the SMU campus as TITAS launches its 2007–2008 Music Series.

Garland Civic Theatre is scheduling auditions for its third production of its 40th anniversary season, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, on September 22 and 23, 2007. Auditions for Crimes of the Heart will take place on December 1 and 2, 2007.

In conjunction with the 2007 State Fair of Texas, Dallas Summer Musicals will present the blockbuster Broadway musical, Disney’s The Lion King at the Music Hall at Fair Park from September 20 through October 21.

The Labyrinth Theatre has announced that it will be donating a percentage of ticket sales to Tuesdays with Morrie to the ALS Association of North Texas. The show runs August 23 through September 15, 2007.
