Garland Civic Theatre is scheduling auditions for its third production of its 40th anniversary season, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, on September 22 and 23, 2007. Appointments for the auditions are scheduled each half hour beginning at 1:00 PM each day at the Garland Civic Theatre building, 108 North Sixth Street, on the square in downtown Garland. Call 972.485.8884 to arrange an appointment. Callbacks will be on September 23 beginning at 5:00 PM.

All roles are available. Singers, ages 16 to 65, are encouraged to audition. All performers are required to perform 16 bars from a ballad and a comic piece from any Broadway musical. Songs from the show are welcome. Dance auditions will be held at the callbacks. Remember also to bring sheet music, headshots and resumes to the audition appointment. Kyle McClaran, GCT’s Artistic Director, will direct the production. The Music Director will be Pam Holcomb McClain, and the Choreographer will be Todd Aragon. Performances will be November 15 – December 8, 2007 at the Granville Arts Center.

CRIMES OF THE HEART

Auditions for GTC’s production of Beth Henley’s award winning play, Crimes of the Heart, will be held on December 1 and 2, 2007. Appointments are scheduled each half hour beginning at 1:00 PM each day and will take place at the Garland Civic Theatre building, 108 North Sixth Street, on the square in downtown Garland. Call 972.485.8884 to arrange an appointment.

There are 6 roles available: 4 female, ages 24 to 30; and 2 male, ages 26 to 30. The female roles include the three Magrath sisters, Lenny, Meg, and Babe, and their cousin, Chick. The men are Meg’s boyfriend and Babe’s lawyer. Those auditioning should bring a headshot and resume. The auditions will consist of “cold readings” from the script. Peter Ray, who directed last season’s Pride and Prejudice, will direct the production. Performances will be January 24 – February 16, 2008 at the Granville Arts Center.
