Lonely Planet

Friday August 08, 2008 - Sunday August 17, 2008
Rated: PG

Runway Theatre closes its Silver Anniversary season with an intriguing presentation of Lonely Planet, written by Steven Dietz and directed by Emilie Buske.

Set in the early 1990s, the play revolves around two friends: Jody, a seemingly worldly and knowledgeable man who refuses to leave the confines of the map store he runs; and Carl, who hauls an ever growing menagerie of chairs into the shop to remind Jody of the outside world. While Jody has become reclusive and closed off from the world, Carl has seen the devastation of a community ravaged by an epidemic. Lonely Planet is a comedy drama that is poignant, timely and touching.
