Turtle Creek Chorale under the Artistic Direction of Jonathan Palant, presents the Dallas premiere of Night Passage, a one-act concert opera.
The scene is London, 1895. British poet and novelist Oscar Wilde has just been arrested for homosexual acts. Although a married man, Wilde lived an alternate lifestyle that cost him his freedom and ultimately his life.
On this night over 600 men fled London fearing their own persecution. This work for chamber orchestra and male choir is haunting, lavish, rich and very romantic. With music by Robert Moran and libretto by James Skofield, Night Passage reflects the passion and pain of predjudice at a single moment in history.
Location: Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center
Admission: $12.00 – $48.00
