Mesquite Community Theatre opens their 2008 season with the whimsical comedy, The Sugar Bean Sisters.
Welcome to Sugar Bean, Florida where the swamp is populated with snakes, ‘gators, flying cats, apparitions, UFOs, a reptile woman, a mysterious Bishop and three very obsessed spinster sisters! Faye wants to escape Sugar Bean forever on an alien spaceship; Willie Mae wants to escape spinster hood by finding a good Mormon husband; and Videlia just wants to escape, period … with her sister’s hidden treasure.
Nathan Sanders’ script takes us on a wild and unpredictable ride through human emotions that explore – and exploit – the foibles, fears and fantasies of our species. The truth is, there’s a little bit of Faye, Willie Mae and Videlia in all of us!
